Discover by Xplor at the ECC Conference 2022
On the 16th and 17th of September, the Early Childhood Council (ECC) held their annual conference in Napier, New Zealand, with the theme of “Growing Together: A collaborative approach to success in early childhood education in New Zealand”. As one of the larger early childhood sector conferences in New Zealand, the ECC conference gathered 282 centre directors, administrators and teachers for two days of professional development.
In addition to engaging in workshops, attendees also got to hear from esteemed keynote speakers, including the New Zealand Minister of Education, the Hon. Chris Hipkins, feature philanthropist, Tupe Solomon Tanoa’I, neurodiversity specialist, Kathryn Berkett and Childspace founders Toni and Robin Christie. The topics ranged from recognising neurodiversity to respecting people, places and things, as well as workshops around the four themes of curriculum, running the business, agencies, standards and regulators, innovation and teams & leadership.
Discover by Xplor was honoured to be the premium sponsor of this year’s event. More importantly, Discover relished the opportunity to engage with early childhood education professionals to gain their insights and feedback on the current state of the sector. Such engagement helps inform Discover’s efforts, allowing us to live up to our value of creating lasting communities.
Discover’s Chief Commercial Officer, Richard North, gave a short address reaffirming Discover’s ongoing commitment to the early childhood education and care sector by continuously building software solutions that make education great. He also highlighted Discover’s new people engagement software platforms, Playground and Home, and how much of a difference they are making in the lives of teachers, whanau and tamariki.
